Jeff Huebner, EVP at Mobilitas Insurance
Jeff Huebner is a long-time friend and former client of GTK Partners. He brings a wealth of experience to his role as founding leader of Mobilitas, an insurance company focused on commercial solutions for the mobile and sharing economy. Mobilitas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CSAA, a company based in the San Francisco Bay Area which stands behind about half of the insurance under the “AAA Insurance” brand. Jeff spent over 23 years at CSAA, including ultimate as Chief Risk Officer, before helping establish Mobilitas.
Mobilitas’ target customers are transportation network entities such as large ride-sharing companies, last-mile delivery companies, and autonomous vehicle networks. In the immediate term, the company is focused on networks of private vehicle owners, for whom insurance is the second biggest expense. Since its founding in 2020, the company has grown to be on the cusp of being the leader provider of solutions to this space driven by focus and solutions-orientation. Very few other providers focus exclusively on the risks Mobilitas is insuring, which allows the company to be entirely focused on granular adaptation to the distinct needs of each individual client, ranging from acting as a re-insurer through a partner in reducing upstream risk.
Moving forward, a key area of innovation is the ability to leverage the enormous amounts of data, including video, to improve every component of the risk chain. This includes suggesting changes to a customer’s vehicle routing (e.g., reducing left turns) and how to ingest video and incorporate it into the claims process for better and faster outcomes.
