Patrick Macdonald-King brings a wealth of experience to his role as CEO of Greenlane. A native Canadian, Patrick moved to Los Angeles over 20 years ago and has since been deeply immersed in the electric vehicle industry. At EV Connect, as President, he was instrumental in establishing one of the largest charging networks in the U.S., with around 20,000 connectors and expanding into markets in Europe, Canada, and Australia. EV Connect was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Companies in 2022.
Greenlane is building a nationwide network of high-speed charging and hydrogen refueling stations for medium and heavy-duty trucks. The company, partnered with Daimler Trucks North America, NextEra Energy Resources, and BlackRock, is rolling out its initial infrastructure in Southern California. The current network includes routes from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, utilizing data from Daimler's telematics to optimize station locations.
Looking ahead, Greenlane plans to expand into the Northwest and eventually the Northeast, continuing to develop its public charging network. Each station has future-proofing amenities, including a rapidly reconfigurable underground trench system circling each location, and hydrogen-readiness. With stations placed every 60 to 100 miles, Greenlane intends to make range anxiety a thing of the past for commercial trucking.
